A gastroscopy looks at the upper digestive tract, including the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum. While a colonoscopy examines the lower digestive tract, including the colon and rectum.
Each test is used to detect different conditions
- Gastroscopy: Stomach ulcers, gastritis, acid reflux damage, bleeding, polyps, and cancers of the oesophagus or stomach
- Colonoscopy: Colorectal polyps, colon inflammation, bleeding, bowel obstruction, and colorectal cancer
In some cases, your doctor may recommend both procedures if symptoms affect multiple areas or if a complete evaluation of your digestive system is needed. At our clinic, both gastroscopy and colonoscopy can be performed safely in the same session, offering greater convenience and comfort.
